I can’t see a twelve-year-old child with an airsoft gun myself, however The Mother explained to her son Tom, “Your father might take responsibility for teaching you gun safety. Airsoft might be an activity that you and your father could do together.” She added, “It will be great if you and your father can go out the range and pay airsoft paintballs and you can learn abouty gun safety.”

What are those colored paint spots on our garage door? Could they be airsoft paint ball splatters for some neighbor hood child shooting at our house? I quickly learned that the airsoft 6mm paintballs are water soluable and they wash off with the hose and water.

Deciding the type of air-soft gun you will buy may be influenced by the power you want as well as handling and cost. There are hand held pistols, pump type rifles, and automatic rifles. The prices obviously range depending on the type of gun you choose and the features of that gun.

A young adult, teenager or some 10 year olds are perfectly capable of using the air-soft guns safely when started off under adult supervision. There has never been an accidental shooting by a properly trained person. Accidents don’t happen they are caused by ignorance and lack of knowledge.

Airgun recreational parks and ranges are springing up in rural areas because families like to play the outdoor war games with airsoft guns. Some of the airsoft fun parks rent airsoft guns and sell the 6mm BB’s ammo. You will also need to rent or buy face masks to protect your eyes and face from getting hit with the Airsoft BB’s.

Some other parents are complaining about the airsoft little balls that are piling up in the living room carpet. There are airsoft targets that collect all those BB’s for another use. The Airsoft BB targets-traps catches and collects the ammo for re-use and re-shooting.

I’ve been worried about the dangers of being hit by the BB’s. What if a bb hits me in my eyes? Will the airsoft put my eyesight out id I get hit? Yes, it might damage or bruise your eyes. Usually, safe shooting eyeglasses are included in the packages. What will the eyeglasses protect? What about face protection? Do you need a full-face mask to protect your whole face? I’d say yes! If you’ve ever been hit in the face with a BB then you know how much pain this little piece of plastic ammo can cause going at 200 fps.

Children can learn gun safety using air-soft guns. With the look and feel of real guns, they will soon get over the curiosity and discomfort of handling these weapons. Children learn quickly, and working with them to practice airsoft gun safety will stay with them throughout life.
