All airsoft rifles function nearly identically, but what they are modeled after is as important. Airsoft rifles come in all different shapes and sizes, and many are replicas of real world guns.

One of the most widely known variants is the AK-47. This rifle was developed in the 1940s and is one of the most simplistic rifles available. It is used throughout the world and is a popular replica.

A less known but still popular rifle is the Steyr AUG. It is of Austrian design and has been in production since the 1970s. Its defining features are the unique mold and quick firing speed.

The airsoft manufacturer Classic Army is a producer of the highest quality G36 assault rifles. The G36 is an H&K product that has recently been adapted in to an airsoft rifle. Airsoft replicas of the G36 have exceptional firing power and endurance.

Echo1 also happens to produce several M14 variants. While the M14 is used much less than it was ten years ago, it still is somewhat prevalent and is great for reenactments.

The M14 was replaced in the military by the more versatile M16. This rifle is very well known and is used extensively in armies across the world. Classic Army produces many M16 variants that are quite powerful.

Another well known Heckler & Koch product is the MP5 submachine gun. The defining characteristic of this model is the small size and rapid firing rate, and these properties transfer over in to airsoft too.

As you can see, there are many variants of airsoft rifles available, and this is not even the complete list. With all this selection, it is remarkably easy to find the perfect product.
